Atonement After-school was a dream of the Lead Pastor, Jason Holloway, after seeing the need for quality after-school care that focuses on the whole child's needs. Pastor Jason and Pastor Ray Garcia, the executive director of The Philadelphia Project, started dreaming and meeting together, leading to the launch of Atonement After-School and hiring Alena as the program coordinator in the fall of 2018. A Summer Camp was added in 2019. The Philadelphia Project is thrilled to partner with Atonement Church to help them achieve their vision. TPP has had success in launching after-school and camp programs, helping them thrive and become sustainable and then handing them back to the local church. This is the vision and hope for Atonement After-School as well.
Atonement After-School walks students from Lingelbach Elementary School each day back to the church, where they offer a safe space to complete their homework, receive personalized homework assistance, and also experience the love of Christ. This program is affordable, and it provides a low student-to-teacher ratio, which is unique and allows the team to support and strengthen each student's academic, social, and emotional well-being.
